New baby? Congratulations!
Let us help you celebrate

Juliet baptism

What are the options?

We offer two celebration services: baptism or thanksgiving for the gift of a child. Baptism is for children with parents who feel ready to join as committed members of the church and to promise that Jesus will be the most important person in their lives. If you don’t come to church regularly or are unsure about some of the Bible’s teaching, "thanksgiving for the gift of a child" is more suitable than baptism.

Will we need preparation?

At a baptism, parents are asked to say some traditional words that need explanation. We would not ask you to make a statement that might not reflect your personal views. Parents who plan to take part in a baptism are asked to talk to one of our vicars, attend our Life Explored course or similar.

Who can be a godparent?

It is traditional but not compulsory to have three, two the same sex as the child. At a baptism at least one godparent should be a baptised church member, but that is optional at a thanksgiving.

How can I book a date?

Come along at 10.30am or 5pm any Sunday to get a feel for our church and ask to speak to our vicar. At 10.30am there are always plenty of preschool families.
